Ryan Garko, a first baseman for the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball
Born in Turin, Piedmont, Italy to a Venetian father and Sicilian mother, Garko was raised in the nearby suburb of Settimo Torinese.
Popular in Europe but little known in America, in an interview, Garko mentioned that he had turned down the lead role in Pretty Baby (1978 with Brooke Shields).
