Alfonso Michel (b. 1897 – d. 1957) was a Mexican painter, contemporary with the Mexican muralism movement, but whose artistry made him a forerunner to the Generación de la Ruptura that followed.
Of the foreign born Ruptura painters, the most important was Vicente Rojo from Cataluña who reshaped Mexican graphic arts.
