This was The Church of the Annunciation, designed by the 26-year-old Giles Gilbert Scott with George Frederick Bodley as joint architect; the latter had already overseen the young Scott's work on Liverpool Cathedral.
All Saints, designed by the Victorian architect G. F. Bodley and built 1863–70, is now located in Jesus Lane.
The building was consecrated in 1843 and the chancel with its rood screen and striking reredos was added in 1892 by the eminent church architect George Frederick Bodley who also decorated St. Luke's Chapel.
