This was also home to Volk's Seaplane Station which was used by his son George Herbert Volk.

Magnus Volk

George Herbert Volk, his second son, is noted as a pioneer builder of seaplanes, whilst another son, Conrad Volk, wrote a biography of his father.

North Laine

One resident of note was George Herbert Volk, second son of railway engineer Magnus Volk, who worked in a small workshop at 86 Gloucester Road in the years 1910-1912.

Paston Place was also the home of Volk's Seaplane Station, which was used by Volk's son George Herbert Volk.
