Amphibolis griffithii

Found along the western coast of Australia, south of Geraldton, and along the southern coastlines to Victor Harbor, South Australia.

Max Cramer

In 2009, as an initiative arising from the Australia on the Map: 1606 - 2006 commemorations, marking the 400th anniversary of Australia's first recorded contact with the outside world, Cramer and the Batavia Coast Maritime Heritage Association erected an impressive statue in Geraldton of Wiebbe Hayes, heroic leader of opposition to the Batavia mutineers.

Muellerolimon

Most specimens collections have been near the coast between Geraldton and Broome, but there have also been collections from the west coast south of Perth, the south coast in the vicinity of Esperance, and as far inland as Wiluna.

Edward Keane, the mayor of Perth, had recently resigned his seat at Geraldton due to business interests, and was a contractor for the Midland Railway.

Southern Sandhill Frog

The only other genus member to A. xiphorhynca is the Northern Sandhill Frog, A. rotunda, which was formerly considered the sole species within the Arenophryne genus until the first decade of the 2000s, when this new species of frog named the Southern Sandhill Frog was discovered about 100 kilometres from Geraldton, Western Australia in Kalbarri National Park.

West Australian Airways

On 5 December 1921 the very first flight as an airline Ted Broad and Bob Fawcett in the Bristol Tourer G-AUDI crashed 130 km north of Geraldton.

West Digital Television

As GWN7 consists of three different stations licensed in Albany/Bunbury, Kalgoorlie and Geraldton, and a fourth licensed to the rest of the state as part of the Remote Commercial Television License scheme, West Digital Television's network is made up of four separate stations.

William McMinn

Following the desertion of a majority of the party to Singapore, McMinn and 5 others purchased a 23-foot open boat which they named the Forlorn Hope and sailed it 2000 miles to Champion Bay, Geraldton, Western Australia.
