With Gad's departure, Gertner took over the role on Broadway, then co-starred with Gavin Creel in the production's first national tour, debuting in August 2012 in Denver.

Judge Gertner presided over Sony BMG v. Tenenbaum, a civil trial in which the Recording Industry Association of America accused Joel Tenenbaum, a Massachusetts college student, of illegally downloading and sharing files, thus violating U.S. copyright law.
On August 23, 2012, Judge Rya W. Zobel, Judge Gertner's successor, rejected Tenenbaum's request for a new trial as untimely, and disregarded the facts and arguments improperly raised in Tenenbaum's reply briefs.
In the 1990s the centre was owned by Fordgate Wandsworth Limited, owned by Fordgate (a large property company who at the time owned similar developments including the Pallasades centre in Birmingham), and ultimately by property investors Moises and Mendi Gertner.
