After all, Maysara's original coalition was composed of Ghomara, Berghwata and Miknasa Berbers of western Morocco.
Later, part of the Ghomara tribe revolted, led by a person called Segguen; their revolt was defeated.
Fired up by Sufrite (Kharijite) activists, the Berber tribes of western Morocco (the Ghomara, Miknasa and Berghwata) formed a coalition and acclaimed the Berber chieftain Maysara al-Matghari as 'caliph'.
