Nepal Sanskrit University (formerly Mahendra Sanskrit University) established in December 1986, has its central office at Beljhundi in Dang district of Mid-Western Development Region, Nepal, which is only 13 kilometeres fom the headquarter, Ghorahi.
From Chaughera (near Ghorahi, Dang) they ruled the Dang and Deukhuri Valleys as well as territories around Tulsipur State south of the Siwaliks, now in India.
