John A. Gilruth (1871–1937), Australian veterinary scientist and former Administrator of the Northern Territory
Gilruth sent Donnelly to Cape Canaveral, Florida in 1959, where he served as a capsule (spacecraft) test conductor for all Project Mercury and Gemini launches.
In the 1996 TV movie Apollo 11 Gilruth was played by William Mesnik.
