1967 Philadelphia Student Demonstrations

SAC was active in a number of demonstrations in that period, such as the Philadelphia Post Office demonstration to demand African-Americans to be hired on an equal basis, the Girard College integration marches, various civil rights marches as well as a number of anti-war marches

Al Harker

Harker attended Girard College where he played on the men’s soccer team from 1926 to 1929.

Ashton Youboty

His family settled in Philadelphia, where he attended Girard College, a college prep boarding school for single parent kids and low income families.

Francis B. Foley

Francis was enrolled in Girard College, a free boarding school, at that time limited to fatherless white boys, from which he graduated in 1904, after completing a high school education.

John K. Kane

Kane was active in founding Girard College and was involved in the appointment of the institution's first board of trustees.
