The name Gizmo For You came about because the company creates Gizmos and naturally For You relates to everyone since anyone can participate or initiate a project.
Early examples of parkour and buildering are also featured, including footage of urban acrobat John Ciampa, the "Brooklyn Tarzan".

In 2005, Fiuczynski was hired by former Police drummer Stewart Copeland for his side project Gizmo, which toured in Italy in July 2005.
Chance Enterprises also published Gizmo's first full-length comic before it moved to Mirage Studios.
The gizmo key was introduced by Verne Q. Powell (Powell Flutes), in response to criticisms of the B foot joint by performers such as Jean-Pierre Rampal, who believed that the lengthened tube made it harder for them to produce the highest notes.
