After the breakup, Kustow found himself in a series of short lived projects, such as Time UK with former drummer from The Jam, Rick Buckler; The Spectres with former Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock; and The Planets.
In the 2000 documentary The Filth and the Fury, the band members generally agree that there was tension between Matlock and Rotten, which Matlock suggests was exacerbated by Malcolm McLaren's attempts to pit the two men against each other.
In the early summer of 1974, Glen Matlock stepped in as a permanent bass player at the suggestion of McLaren.
