He also provided the voice of the young Winston Churchill in the BBC-produced documentaries In the Footsteps of Churchill among a variety of televisual credits throughout radio and television.

Angell was handpicked by the late John Mortimer as the perfect voice for the BBC live radio plays The Summer of a Dormouse with Joss Ackland, and The Dark Tower.

Angell began his career in 1998 opposite Simon Callow in the Patrick Garland directed Chimes at Midnight at the Chichester Festival Theatre, he went on to appear in George Farquar's The Recruiting Officer, A String of Pearls and 'A Victorian Festival of Christmas.'
