They picked up interest from several underground record labels and garnered some attention as part of a subculture of industrial and experimental groups in the UK, including Terminal Cheesecake, Skullflower, Ramleh, Loop and Godflesh.
Steve is best known nowadays as bassist in krautrock/shoegazers Einstellung but formally well known as second guitarist in the industrial metal band Godflesh live between 1997 and 1999.

Of Cabbages and Kings featured Kizys, founder/guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist/producer Carolyn Master, Vinnie Signorelli (Unsane), Ted Parsons (Prong, Swans, Godflesh, Jesu, Teledubgnosis) and Diane Wlezein.
Blut Aus Nord's work has been described as the "sonic equivalent to Thorns injecting Streetcleaner-era Godflesh with an evil unpredictability".

Apart from his work with Godflesh, Hough was also guitarist in experimental industrial metal band Cable Regime from 1988 until the band's demise in 1997.
Their influences are cosmic psychedelia, industrial rock (like Swans or Godflesh), Neurot & Hydrahead catalogue, old 4AD bands, krautrock, Norwegian black metal.
The CD and digital versions of the EP also feature a remix of "Vicarious Redemption" (originally on Vertikal) by Justin Broadrick of Jesu and Godflesh fame.
