The MSX2 version has the option to be played in turns by two players, with the second player playing as a ninja named Nezumi Kozō, which is the basis of Goemon's sidekick Ebisumaru.
The island's super-intelligent defense mechanism, however, proves to be too much for Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon to handle by themselves.
Lupin, Jigen, and Goemon are at their Manhattan hideout plotting their next caper, when suddenly a large masked man bursts in.
In two other levels, players are given the option of playing as either Jigen or Goemon.
