Gonda and its nearby region is densely populated with the Thakurela jats who are the branch of Kakran clan.The whole region is dominated by these jats.They were the rulers of this region from 1046 AD.They migrated from Mandore where they had ruled for many centuries before the Rathore rajputs.In the Gonda region they expelled the Janghara rajputs and established their empire.
