German-American musicologist Karl Haas, whose knowledge of every facet of music was encyclopedic, started Adventures in Good Music in 1959 on radio station WJR in Detroit, Michigan.
It featured the group trying to make a good music video, but being hampered by a poor director, faulty equipment and the weight of René Dif being too much for a backstage crewman holding his support rope.
In November 2000, before the station signed on, Hispanic Broadcasters sold the permit to Good News Radio Broadcasting, Inc. of Green Valley (later Good Music, Inc.), owners of six radio stations in Tucson and Douglas.
The label has also attracted foreign interest from international acts like Kanye West and Jay-Z and has recently been signed to Kanye's GOOD Music.
