One of these is Repparfjordbotn with its large colony of Arctic Terns and its autumn numbers of Goosander.
It is an important breeding, moulting and resting area for numerous birds including the Kingfisher, Bittern, Whooper Swan, Goosander, Great Crested Grebe, Crane and Sea Eagle.
The reservoir carries nationally important wintering populations of tufted ducks, pochard, goosander and common goldeneye.
