In 1990, Texas Death Row inmate Michael Lee Lockhart claimed to have killed Gotlib and buried her body at Fort Knox and eventually provided a map of the burial site, but after a thorough investigation police found no physical evidence to verify the claim.

Police believe that Oakley followed Gotlib to the Bashford Manor Mall parking lot, where he abducted her leaving nothing but her bike.
As a writer, Lefred Thouron has collaborated with Yan Lindingre on « Les carottes sont crues », a spoof on the "organic" craze, has brought back to life "The Adventures of Super-Dupont" with Gotlib and Solé in the magazine Fluide Glacial, and above all, has worked with Diego Aranega to produce « Casiers Judiciaires », slices of life in a provincial courthouse, recently published as a collection by Dargaud.
The book is a collection of translated comics by French comic book artists and cartoonists of the 1970s, including Gérard Lauzier, Moebius (Jean Giraud), Guido Buzzelli, Nikita Mandryka, Sole, Lozo, Jean-Claude Forest, Alexis, and Gotlib.
