Remaining in Boston, Ocasek and Orr then formed another band, Richard and the Rabbits, featuring keyboardist Greg Hawkes, followed by another band, Cap'n Swing, which included guitarist Elliot Easton.
Since 2001 Hawkes has been playing and experimenting with the ukulele, including renditions of The Cars songs My Best Friend's Girl, Drive, Tonight She Comes, and You Might Think.
Greg Hawkes, keyboardist for the 1970s-1980s New Wave group, The Cars, lived in Littleton during the band's early years before moving to Lincoln.
