At the southern end of the street is the junction with Candlemaker Row, where there is located a statue of Greyfriars Bobby, and is the junction with Chambers Street, where the National Museum of Scotland is located.
He appeared in several films as a child including Beyond This Place (1959) and the Walt Disney features Greyfriars Bobby (1961), Almost Angels (1962) and The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964).
