Errol Daniels Hibbert (born May 17, 1944 in Guácimo) is a former Costa Rican football player, who used to play as a striker for LD Alajuelense.
The town began with the construction of the railway built by West Indian employees of Minor Cooper Keith in the 1880s.

Among the dry forest specimens found we can mention the "Pochote" (Bombacopsis quinata), the "Guacimo" (Guazuma ulmifolia), and the "Indio Desnudo" (Bursera simaruba) but there are many other trees present that are native to the whole Nicoya Peninsula area.
