And Other Stories first came to the public's attention when its first book, Down the Rabbit Hole by Juan Pablo Villalobos (translated by Rosalind Harvey), was chosen by the public to be one of the ten titles longlisted for the 2011 Guardian First Book Award.
It was also shortlisted for the Forward Poetry Prize for First Collection; it was shortlisted for the Poetry Now Award in 2006; and it was longlisted for the Guardian First Book Award.
The collection was put together by Nigerian writers, Ovo Adagha and Molara Wood, and includes stories by notable authors, such as Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Jhumpa Lahiri as well as many up-and-coming writers such as Petina Gappah, winner of the 2009 Guardian First Book Award, and Elaine Chiew, a recipient of the Bridport Prize.
