Arantes dropped out of university to dedicate himself to his solo career, and in 1976, his song Meu mundo e nada mais (My world and nothing more) was picked by Rede Globo to feature in the soundtrack for the telenovela Anjo Mau.
The reunion of the successful mid-80s lineup happened in 2000, when Brazilian singer and pianist Guilherme Arantes invited Taffo, Marcucci and Fernandes to play with him on a live album.

Multishow ao Vivo was recorded live at the historic town of Paraty, and brings in the repertoire songs that marked the career of da Mata, including "Não me Deixe So", "Ai, Ai, Ai", "Eu Sou Neguinha", and "Vermelho", in addition to the song "Acode" (composed by da Mata), remakes of "Um Dia, Um Adeus" (Guilherme Arantes), and "As Rosas Não Falam" (Cartola).
