The Imperial army had deployed its advance guard between the towns of Lustenau and Höchst, south of the lake town of Hard.
It did not really serve as a parish church then, but as a symbol for the power of the Electorate of Mainz proximate to the royal court at Frankfurt.

About 2.5 miles away from Ludwigshafen, an Oppau plant produced fertilizer and up to "800 T/day nitrogen as ammonia and a considerable part of this was exported as liquid ammonia to Hochst, Wolfen and Bittefeld." A separate Oppau plant produced up to 60 T/day of urea.

The Taunus Railway, which was opened between Höchst and Hattersheim on 24 November 1839, ran through this area and crossed the highway to Zeilsheim (now called Sindlinger Bahnstraße, literally "Sindlingen railway street").
Since 1981 the society has organised the Königstein railway festival (Bahnhofsfest Königstein) every year at Whitsun, when the Königsteiner Bahn between Frankfurt-Höchst and Königstein im Taunus is operated.
During the trial only two of the 14 wagons attached at Frankfurt-Höchst arrived at Königstein, the rest had to be uncoupled en route.
They dealt with the Water Castle at Rückingen, the castle at Höchst, Mömbris Castle, Wasserlos Castle, Hüttelngesäß Castle, Karben Castle and Hauenstein Castle.
