It is famous for being an inspiration for parts of the cartoon My Neighbor Totoro.
It is bordered to the south by Hachikokuyama, to the west by a golf course and amusement park operated by Seibu, to the northwest by Hatogamine Hachiman Shrine, and to the east by central Tokorozawa.
