Bond Street Station Upgrade (UK; detailed design 2010-12) - Halcrow is part of the design team, along with consultants Atkins appointed by Costain Laing O'Rourke Joint Venture for the upgrading of the existing Bond Street Station in Central London
The daughter of Philip William Cantwell and Doris "Dolly" Halcrow, Westbury was educated at Brian's College in Auckland, New Zealand, worked for the Auckland Savings Bank and moved to Canada in 1947.
However, findings from Halcrow Consultants Ltd. suggested the design did not comply with the requirement of BS5400, the improper anchoring of the column rebar to the crossbeams and the formation of ettringite (Delayed Ettringite Formation) were responsible for the cracks and were finally accepted by the ministry (Source: New Straits Times, 1 October 2004).
