He has performed as soloist with numerous orchestras and conductors, including the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera Symphony Orchestra, Halle Orchestra (Rory Macdonald), Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra (Petri Sakari), Tapiola Sinfonietta (Paavo Berglund), the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra (John Storgards) and the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Lorin Maazel.
Ian Bousfield (born 1964) was Principal Trombone with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, having formerly held the same positions with the London Symphony Orchestra and Hallé Orchestra.
Highlights in 2002 included the premieres of several major works, including View From Olympus a double concerto for piano, percussion and orchestra performed by Evelyn Glennie, Philip Smith and the Halle Orchestra conducted by Mark Elder at the Royal Gala finale of the Commonwealth Games 'Pulse' music festival in Manchester, UK.
As a soloist of international repute she has performed in concert with, among others, the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London, the Gewandhaus in Leipzig Germany, the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo, the Hallé Orchestra Manchester, La Suisse Romande and Montreal.
As an orchestral player he has worked with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle Orchestra, Opera North and the English Northern Philharmonia.
