BSPU has solid relations with many Chinese educational institutions: Heihe Institute,Changchun University, Harbin Pedagogical University, Harbin University, Far-Eastern University of Finances and Economics, Daqing Pedagogical Institute, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Language and Culture and others.

IDEST has developed strategic partnerships with several universities in France and overseas: Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (Toulouse, France), Space Policy Institute (Washington, USA), the International Centre of Space Law (Kiev, Ukraine), Pázmány Péter Catholic University (Budapest, Hungary), University of Jaén (Jaén, Spain), Harbin Institute of Technology (Harbin, China) and University La Sapienza (Rome, Italy).
On June 9, 2007, a model of the J-11BS was revealed to the public during the opening ceremony of the new aerospace museum of the Harbin Institute of Technology.

The school is located in the Xili town of Shenzhen in a place called "University Town," which holds the Shenzhen campuses of Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Tsinghua University.
