Brooke hosted her first radio show at university with Rare FM interviewing celebrity guests such as Johnny Rotten Cheeky Girls and Hayley Westenra.
The Forum 28 is one of the areas main cultural and art centres and has hosted such acts as Billy Ocean, Hayley Westenra, Anthony Costa, Pam Tillis and Björn Again, as well as hosting such events as the local multicultural festival and various career conventions.
The show featured some New Zealand teenagers who are now famous, including television personality Drew Neemia, cricketer Ronald Karaitiana, singer Hayley Westenra, actress Michelle Ang and concert pianist John Chen.

On 30 November 2012, Janis produced "The American Christmas Carol" concert for Kate Winslet’s Golden Hat Foundation supported by Sarah McLachlan, Loreena McKennitt, Andrea Corr, Hayley Westenra, Sleepy Man Banjo Boys,and a choir etc in Carnegie Hall.
On 18 March 2011, Major performed in the national Christchurch memorial service at Hagley Park of Christchurch in the presence of Prince William, Prime Minister John Key, Bob Parker, Hayley Westenra, ChristChurch Cathedral Choir, dignitaries, international rescue teams and tens of thousands of New Zealanders.
