In 2010 Brokedown Cadillac recorded a cover of Sweet's The Ballroom Blitz which was placed on the The CW Television Network's Hellcats, and appears on the Warner Bros. Records -released soundtrack for the show, along with tracks by Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka.
In retirement at Los Gatos, California, he authored and contributed to several best-selling books on naval history and submarine operations, including Tragedy at Honda, Sink-Em All, Through Hell and Deep Water, Hell at 50 Fathoms, Zoomies, Subs and Zeros, Hellcats of the Sea, Battles of the Philippine Sea, and Down to The Sea in Subs: My Life in the U.S. Navy.
She also played a recurring character on the TV series Hellcats, starring former Phil of the Future star Alyson Michalka and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody's Ashley Tisdale and in 2012, she appeared in the TV movie "Big Time Movie".
Mick Medew as lead vocalist and guitarist formed a straight-ahead hard rock band, The 31st, in Brisbane in 1979, with Ron Peno (ex-The Hellcats) on vocals, Tony Robertson (ex-Credits) on bass guitar and Chris Welsh on drums.
In Episode 10 of the first season of the CW series Hellcats, "Pledging My Love", the cheerleading team, led by Derrick Altman (played by D. B. Woodside), danced to a shortened version of "You Rock My World" as a means for Altman to propose to coach Vanessa Lodge (played by Sharon Leal).
