In 1978 DRG took over the Royal Sovereign group of companies which included well-known brand names such as Stephens inks, chalks and crayons; LePage's gums and adhesives; Seccotine; Patterson Blick; Vanguard stapling machines and Speedry magic markers.

Henry Charles Stephens

In 1872 the ink factory and offices were moved from Aldersgate Street to 275 Holloway Road, Holloway; in 1892 the factory moved again to nearby Gillespie Road, close to Arsenal station.

Robert Marnock

Another of his achievements was the landscaping of the grounds of Avenue House, Finchley, north London, the property of ink magnate Henry Charles Stephens.


Victoria Park, Barnet

In 1887 Henry Stephens proposed converting the area to a park to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, but it was not opened until 1902, a year after Victoria's death.
