One of his sons was Henry Lefroy, who would later become the 11th Premier of Western Australia.
Educated initially at Mrs McKnight's School in Perth; later he travelled to England, where he continued his studies at the Preparatory School at Exmouth, then at Elstree and finally at Rugby from 1868 to 1872.
A son, H.B. Lefroy had taken over his father's Walebing property in 1873 and regularly coached and captained the New Norcia team which initially played matches against teams from nearby Northam and York.
