He was an unsuccessful candidate for election in 1846 to the Thirtieth Congress.
Caulfield grew up with his parents, Henry P. Caulfield and Grace Nelson Caulfield in Hollywood, California, graduating from Hollywood High School in 1931.
After his retirement from the Administrative Office, Chandler was tapped in 1957 by the territorial government of Hawaii to undertake an a study of the administration of territorial courts, and to recommend legislation to implement his findings.

Henry P. Haney (November 25, 1846 - November 19, 1923) was an American Last survivor of The Great Locomotive Chase during the American Civil War.
Larrabee married Catherine Linn Phillips (1849-1940) on 14 February 1869 in Indiana, with whom he had five children and moved from Indiana to Joplin, Missouri, then to Wellington, Kansas and finally to Wichita, Kansas where he ran an artificial stone business.
He was a professor at the University of California in which he instructed extension courses for workers in industry.
The Henry P. Glass House, built in 1948, is located on Dickens St. and is arguably the first passive solar home in America.
Together with the buildings of the neighboring Oliver D. Filley House (now the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute) at 684 Park Avenue and the Henry P. Davison House (now the Italian Consulate General) at 690 Park Avenue, it forms one of the last intact architectural ensembles on Park Avenue.
