Henry Vandyke Carter (1831–1897), English surgeon and anatomical artist
In 1858 Carter joined the Indian Medical Service and moved to Bombay where he took up the post of Professor of Anatomy at Grant Medical College.
He and Henry Vandyke Carter produced an inexpensive and accessible anatomy textbook for medical students.
The book incorporates illustrations from a public domain edition of Gray's Anatomy, originally drawn by Henry Vandyke Carter.
