Soon after formation, the firm moved to Thavies Inn at Holborn Circus and later to Serjeant's Inn, Fleet Street, before moving to 21 Holborn Viaduct in October 1977.
This route began on 19 July 1961 to replace the trolleybus route 643, between Wood Green and Holborn Circus, as part of the trolleybus replacement program.

The store finally closed in 1972, but prior to that had been unusual in as much as its premises were away from the main Oxford Street shopping area, being on the edge of the City of London at Holborn Circus.
