From 1909 to 1914, Jørgensen worked on a large series of works illustrating Holger Drachmann's life and poetry for the Drachmann Inn in Frederiksberg.
Among the well-known guests were the writer and painter Holger Drachmann, who found his muse, Edith, among the singers.

As a key member of the local authority, in 1903 he built the White House (det Hvide Hus) which became a favourite gathering spot for members of the Skagen Painters including Holger Drachmann and P.S. Krøyer.
During 1874 or 1875, he undertook a study tour in Telemark with Gerhard Munthe and 1880, he traveled with the sculptor Axel Ender (1853-1920) and the Danish poet Holger Drachmann over the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.
He immediately became attached to the artists' community there, especially Michael Ancher, his wife Anna and Holger Drachmann.
