In 1999, McGraw and his father Harold McGraw, Jr. accepted the Honor Award from the National Building Museum on behalf of the McGraw-Hill Companies, which were recognized for their contributions to the U.S.'s built environment.
In 1986 he received the National Building Museum's first Honor Award.

In 2007 & 2008 the project Guevara curated Campo Expandido VIII with Raymundo Sesma was awarded the AIA New Mexico Honor Award and the AIA Albuquerque Honor Award.
He also received the Director's Honor Award of the United States Secret Service in the same year.
