The village falls within the sheading and constituency of Glenfaba and is currently represented in Tynwald and the House of Keys by David Anderson MHK who was elected in 2001, 2006 and again in 2011.

Upon moving to the Island he became a Laxey Commissioner in 1974 before standing for the House of Keys as MHK for Garff in 1976.

Despite having been a Member of the House of Keys for only three years she saw off tough competition from Leonard Singer (who had resigned as a member of the Legislative Council in order to stand for the House of Keys, but was unsuccessful with 1621 votes).
Prior to 1821, the House of Keys had no official home, but met first at Castle Rushen, and later at the Bishop of Sodor and Man's library in Castletown.
