Reußendorf was the name of a family line of the Bohemian branch established by Anton of the House of Schaffgotsch; the line died out in the 17th century.
A century later the land owners of the Schaffgotsch noble family established a special commission to gather scientific evidence and describe the healing effects of the Świeradów waters.
Initially the village was in the possession of the noble House of Schaffgotsch, then in 1821 it passed to Baron Seherr-Thoss, who sold it in the 1860s to Major Thiele-Winckler von Miechowitz, whose family owned the village until WWII.
In the 18th century it was one of the estates of the counts of Schaffgotsch.
