Cape Henlopen

A small fishing settlement (perhaps fictional) at Henlopen was the location for "Tom Chist and the Treasure Box", one of Howard Pyle's stories in Howard Pyle's Book of Pirates.

Grace Rhys

Several of her stories have an Irish setting, including The Charming of Estercel (1904) set in Elizabethan Ireland, which was illustrated by Howard Pyle in Harper's Magazine.

Mackworth Castle

Mackworth Castle is the scene of events that take place in the 1954 movie The Black Shield of Falworth, starring Tony Curtis, which itself is based on the 19th century historical novel Men of Iron by the American author Howard Pyle.
