His gravesite is situated in the Luisenstadt Cemetery at Südstern in Berlin Kreuzberg, and includes work by the German sculptor Hugo Lederer.
His greatest success came in 1902 with the commission for a Bismarck tower in the center of Hamburg.

Lederer is buried in Wilmersdorfer Waldfriedhof in Stahnsdorf near Berlin.
