In the second round Aurél Csertői's team played against the Swedish IF Elfsborg and they drew at home (0-0), but lost in Sweden 3-0 and they were eliminated from the Europa League 2009-10.
Along with midfielder Anders Svensson led the season with seven gates of the internal scorers, contributing decisively to the fact that IF Elfsborg won for the first time since 1961 the Swedish Championship.
IF Elfsborg head coach Jörgen Lennartsson commented about Skúli as such: "Skúli is an all-around player, useful in many positions, both as a center-back, wing back and defensive midfielder.
