On 28 December 2008 she left ITV Yorkshire (where she also appeared on ITV Border, ITV Granada and ITV Tyne Tees) but returned in early 2009 for a brief stint.

ITV Border

ITV Border also maintains a bureau for Scottish Parliament coverage in Edinburgh with reporters and camera crews based locally in Dumfries, Galloway, Kendal, Selkirk and Whitehaven.

As of 25 February 2009, the regional news programme Lookaround is produced by ITV Tyne Tees & Border in Gateshead with news and advertising staff based at offices in Carlisle and Edinburgh.

On 25 February 2009, ITV Tyne Tees and ITV Border merged news output whilst the respective programme titles were retained, Royle now presents both ITV News Tyne Tees and Lookaround.

Ricky's television and media career began when he appeared in the ITV Border series Raw Chefs, after which be hosted his own six-part series called A Taste for the Road, which saw him tour local regions on his motorbike, showcasing local produce.
