Western Illinois Valley Conference

The conference meet is held near the end of every season at Illinois College.


College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin

The conference was formed with nine charter members (Augustana College, Carthage College, Elmhurst College, Illinois College, Illinois Wesleyan University, Lake Forest College, Millikin University, North Central College and Wheaton College) on April 26, 1946, in Jacksonville, Ill., and opened competition in the 1946-47 academic year as the College Conference of Illinois.

Eliphalet Wickes Blatchford

Blatchford’s contributions continue to be present across the state of Illinois through his extensive work as a trustee of Illinois College, Rockford Seminary, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

George Barker Stevens

Illinois College awarded him a Doctor of Divinity degree in 1902, and the University of Rochester awarded him a Doctorate in Law the same year.

Theodore M. Brantley

After practicing law for several years, Brantly became a professor of Ancient Languages, first at Illinois College and then at the College of Montana in Deer Lodge.

William Jayne

He attended Illinois College in 1844 where he was a founding member and served as first president of Phi Alpha Literary Society.
