She was among the first Swedish actresses known by name to have performed in breeches role; in 1794, she and Inga Åberg did the two male leading parts of August and Theodor in the play De begge kammarpagerna (The Two Valets) by Kexel.
Gustaw Löwenhielm also mention her as one of the few native talents between Elisabeth Olin, who retired in 1784, and Jeanette Wässelius, who had her breakthrough in 1800, though he considers her overestimated and not as good as Inga Åberg.

Straas is possibly the grandmother of the famous actress and opera singer Inga Åberg, who became a star at the second national theatre when it opened in 1788, and of the actor Gustav Åbergsson.
