She also contributed to a number of periodicals, including the Irish Monthly, the Pall Mall Magazine, the American Ecclesiastical Review and the Windsor Magazine.
Her works also brought her into contact with clerical literary figures, such as Brother Henry Foley SJ, the historian of the Society of Jesus, and Father Matthew Russell SJ, the founder-editor of the Irish Monthly.
She later wrote for the Irish Monthly after it was established, and for the Irish Quarterly Review.

She sold her first poem, "Told in the Twilight" to the Cornhill Magazine in 1866 and afterwards contributed to Longman's Magazine, Good Words, The Athenaeum, the Irish Monthly and many others.
