It performed very well on heavy express trains from Madrid to the French border in Irun.
In 2008–09, a third place in the regular season meant Alcorcón was allowed to appear in the promotion play-offs for the first time in its history: after disposing of UE Sant Andreu and CD Alcoyano, the club was ousted by Real Unión of Irun in the final round with a 3–1 aggregate.
A second rolling highway was planned for 2011 on the Atlantic coast between Lille and Irun.

The competition started on March 29, 1914 and concluded on May 10, 1914 with the Final, held at the Estadio de Amute in Irun, in which Athletic Bilbao lifted the trophy for the 5th time ever with a 2–1 victory over España de Barcelona.
