In the end of the 1990s, Islam passed the Roman Catholic Church and Pentecostalism to become the largest minority religion in Norway, provided Islam is seen as one group.
The inhabitants are an interesting and welcoming mix of the original inhabitants, hippies, and Norwegian Muslims.
