1925 Hama uprising

Tensions between the French authorities and the leaders of Jabal al-Druze began to surface from 1922 and in the mid-summer of 1925, the Druze leader Sultan Pasha al-Atrash declared an uprising against the French Mandate after the imprisonment of three prominent Druze leaders who were invited to Damascus for talks with the authorities.

Al-Mazraa

During the Druze revolt against the Ottomans to protest consctiption into the Ottoman army, the Ottoman general Mustafa Pasha led his army to al-Mazraa where he faced the forces of Ismail al-Atrash, the Druze chieftain.

Battle of Salkhad

The battle of Salkhad refers to the clash between the Druze rebel forces of Sultan Pasha al-Atrash and a unit of the French Mandate based in Salkhad on 20 July.

Busra al-Harir

In 1879 fighting flared up between the townspeople and the Druze after the Muslim inhabitants of several nearby villages fled to Busra al-Harir as a result of fighting between the al-Atrash family, a leading Druze clan, and the local Bedouin.
